« o1-Dancing in the Rain-1o«

Eiji grabbed Ichigo’s hand and ripped her out the front door of his house. It didn’t matter how many times she warned him, how much she complained about not having any shoes on, how many times his older siblings yelled for them to come in, Eiji’s mind was cemented on the idea of going out into the rain.

After he jumped into a few puddles Eiji grabbed her hand and spun her all around him in a dance. “Eiji, what are you doing?” Ichigo asked bashfully as she licked up a few unlucky water droplets rolling off her lips.

“Dancing~!” he chimed. “Quick, it’s a test! Tango!”

Ichigo took the lead and threw herself into his arms, allowing him to dip her and lift her while she arched her back and angled her legs like a swan. “Cha-Cha!” After Eiji set her back down on her cold, bare feet, Ichigo began twisting her hips with the speed and fierceness of a rattle snake, her feet flying around under her. Amazingly, Eiji kept up with her, no matter the dance, no matter the moves. But that was Seigaku’s tennis acrobat for you.

They danced and danced together, light hearted and free. Eiji and Ichigo smiled and laughed together, as cheerful and inert as Helium.

Soon enough they were both out of stamina and were left there, standing, soaked in the cool, refreshing rain with droplets rolling off their bodies, leaving traces of their presences with the way Eiji’s and Ichigo’s clothes clung to their bodies.

They stayed that way, slow dancing, holding one another, until the rain stopped.
